THE BRIEF:

Develop a Business Strategy Report for Co-op Food (part of The Co-operative Group).

Your report should contain the following chapters (please use the template provided):

- An Executive summary

- Your interpretation of the company’s strategic challenges and loss of competitive position that led to the loss of market share in the UK. This should be based on a separate comprehensive external and internal strategic analysis that is not added in detail to the report.

- Two alternative strategies to halt or reverse the loss in market share (using your interpretation of their strategic challenges).

- A critical evaluation of the alternative strategies and recommendation for the preferred strategy.

- A plan for implementation of the recommended strategy, complete with GANTT chart for the main activities and milestones.

- Appendices with references to sources used and any information relevant to your report.
