(3) TopNex Property Agency has 300 customers who purchased new private condominium units in a property launch last month. The agency decides to take a sample of 50 customers to assess their satisfaction with the services provided by their property agents. The company has information about the customers Age, Gender and Amount paid for the property.
(a) Describe how a simple random sample maybe selected.
(b) Describe how a stratified sample maybe selected.

(4) State and briefly explain whether the statements below refer to descriptive or inferential statistics.
(a) The proportion of companies with three or more women in corporate board rooms is expected to grow from the current 16% to 25% in the next five years.
(b) The median age of teachers in secondary schools is estimated to increase by five years to 41 years in the next three years.
(c) In a survey of fifty persons who have just turned 63, 25% said that they would like to work until they are 70. (9 marks)
(5) A company carried out an employee satisfaction survey in view of the recent high resignation rate in the company. Many employees have concerns over the confidentiality of the information that they provide in the survey and decided not to provide any negative feedback. What is the main type of research bias that can occur here? Explain the bias stated. (4 marks)
(6) For each of the following situations stated below identify which refers to a population and which refers to a sample.
(a) 50 IT graduates who entered the job market five years ago were randomly selected for a survey about their job progression.
(b) The results of all 300 candidates who sat for the 2023 Investment Analysis Examination were analysed. (4 marks)
(7) All candidates who applied for financial advisor posts in a bank were required to sit an aptitude test. The scores of these applicants are shown in the stem and leaf diagram below:
(a) How many candidates applied for the post of financial advisors? (2 marks)
(b) State lowest and highest score obtained for the aptitude test. (4 marks)
(c) What is the median score? (2 marks)
(d) Looking at the diagram, would you expect the mean score to be higher than the median score? Explain. [Note: you do not need to compute the mean] (2 marks)
(e) A minimum score of 68 is required before a job candidate is invited to attend a personal interview. What percent of applicants did not qualify for the interview? (2 marks)
Section B (50 marks)
You are the Chief Statistician of a research firm. Your client is a large public accounting firm. Its audit division has a few teams in the organization. Employee turnover rate was high and your firm has been commissioned to carry out an independent Employee Satisfaction survey of staff in the audit division.
The Consultant has decided to do a preliminary study by surveying a sample of 52 audit staff. This was done by randomly selecting employees from the various teams and getting the responses via an online questionnaire which all selected employees have to respond.
The questionnaire used to collect the data is shown below:
The detailed data collected from 52 respondents are shown in Appendix 1 (Page 8).
Using EXCEL, carry out relevant analyses to answer the following questions:

(13) Create a pie chart for the variable Q5e (Good work-life balance) with 3 categories
namely “Disagree” (for rating of 1 and 2), “Neutral” (for rating of 3) and “Agree” (for rating of 4 and 5) . Label your chart clearly. (4 marks)
(14) Summary (maximum: 150 words):
Using appropriate excel analysis, discuss the overall satisfaction of employees in this Division suggesting areas that the organisation may wish to address. [Hint: You may wish to analyse Q5a to Q5for other suitable variables] (8 marks)
