Assessment 2 – Group Report Assignment
Due date: 10 May, 2024. 11:55pm to Turnitin.
The goal of this assessment is for students to research, address and comprehend:
1. Theories and concepts of supply chain management within commodity-based industrial processes.
2. How to work effectively in groups, participate effectively and contribute to a group task and group output.
3. Key industrial processes, functions, and value adding activities within a commodity chain from an economic perspective
4. Industrial ecosystems, suppliers, users/consumers and markets
Group Report Assignment
Assessment 2 Group Report 45%. Due 10th May, 2024 (Turnitin)
Identify and describe the end-to-end structure of the supply chain of any raw unprocessed bulk energy, agricultural, or mining commodity of your choice. Identify and discuss the key processes, functions, and value adding activities in the supply chain of your chosen commodity and its industry context. Include the sourcing, storage, transformation, processing, material handling, transportation and distribution processes of your chosen commodity. Highlight the economic and social importance of your chosen commodity to its industrial users and consumers, and the benefits derived from it.
Deliverable 1:
Your group will:
1. Select any energy, agricultural or mining commodity of your choice.
2. Describe and discuss the end-to-end structure of your chosen supply chain including key processes, functions, and value adding activities in the supply chain that are peculiar to your chosen commodity and industry context, and any extensions overseas.
3. Clearly describe and discuss the processes of sourcing, storage, transformation, processing, material handling, transportation and distribution of your chosen commodity.
4. Discuss the social and economic importance of your chosen commodity to its industrial users and consumers, the utility/benefits derived from it.
• Note you do not need to provide a financial analysis. Due 10 May 2024 before 11:55pm to Turnitin.
Deliverable 2: Group Process Reflection and Peer Evaluation Report
Your group should complete a Group Process Reflection and Peer Evaluation Report for each member of your group and submit unfailingly by 11 May 2024, 5pm to your teacher [email protected]. Further details will be discussed in the class by your teacher, Dr Daniel Chew.
References: All writing and illustrations must be adequately and appropriately referenced (minimum of 8 scholarly references). Your report should consist of scholarly references. All references must be from credible sources, such as journal articles, research books, industry related journals, company documents and recent consultancy reports such as from KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, and Accenture.
Word Count: The report length should be 4000 words (+/- 10%), and the assignment will be submitted through Turnitin. No appendices are required for the report.

Presentation requirements
The report submitted should comply with the following standards:
• A4 size paper
• Font Times New Roman
• Font size 12 pt for normal text
• Font size 14 pt bold for major headings, 12 pt bold for minor headings
• 1.5 line spacing
• Page numbering (centred at the bottom of each page)
• 4cm margin left of page, 2.5cm margin top, bottom and right of page
• All figures, tables, diagrams are to be consecutively numbered and appropriately labelled
